Ulrike & Josef

We are Ulrike & Josef and our family. We were both built in 1970/1969 and have therefore reached the age when people start buying overland four-wheel drive vehicles.

Traveling is one of our passions – whenever we can. We prefer to travel on our own in a habitable vehicle and organize everything the way we like it. This has been the case since our student days.

The habitable vehicles so far have been: a self-built Peugeot J5, followed by a 16-year-old air-cooled VW bus. Then it was a Mercedes James Cook. When that became too small for the family, a self-built Sprinter with a long wheelbase. After another addition to the family, there were then 2 caravans and we are currently on the road with our ‘Flash’, an MB 814 road vehicle with an H license plate.

Now we are making our long-cherished dream come true – we are building our Hoppetosse – and we are going everywhere with it: to Europe, Central Asia, certainly also to Morocco and definitely to Takatukaland!

In this blog we report on how we are getting on.
